Brig. Gen. James Adkins, adjutant general of the Maryland National Guard, walks off the flight line at Sather Air Base, Iraq during a visit with deployed Maryland Guard troops June 1, 2011. During his visit, Adkins visited with soldiers from the 29th MPAD, C Company, 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment, and the 1729th Field Support Maintenance Company, all of which are deployed throughout Iraq.
