Brig. Gen. Steven R. Rudder expresses his gratitude to Marines March 3 at the Camp Foster Chapel. The noncommissioned officers of Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 1 are actively engaged in leading their Marines according to the 35th commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. James F. Amos’ “Reawakening” letter. “I believe as a unit we will only continue to do better,” said Cpl. Ethan A. Coonce. “We can accomplish even more by spreading our leadership knowledge to other units on Okinawa. Hard work pays off.” Coonce is a maintenance management specialist with MWHS-1, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Rudder is the commanding general of 1st MAW.
