British Army Maj. Gen. Christopher Ghika meets with Spanish soldiers at the Besmaya Range Complex, Iraq, May 18, 2019. Ghika was there to thank the Spanish contingent for their efforts to train Iraqi soldiers and police in areas such as squad tactics and combat lifesaving. The general also had the opportunity to visit the new “M16” barracks where Iraqi troops stay at Besmaya and speak with Iraqi commanders attending training.
