Bulldozers brought in from Fort Carson, Colo., cut a fire line as firefighters battle several fires in Waldo Canyon at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., June 27, 2012. Officials estimated that the fire spread to about 10 acres of land belonging to the Academy. The Waldo Canyon fire, which started June 23, 2012, burned several hundred homes and forced large-scale evacuations in Colorado Springs and at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
