Summary

Wooden Stakes discovered in 1932 by Yosemite’s glacier survey team on the Maclure Glacier. Naturalist C. A. Harwell suggested that these were fragments of one of several stakes used by John Muir to measure the glacier’s movement in 1871, and scholars today agree.
