Summary
A Martin Pate painting of a burial service for a member of the Immortal 600, the approximately 500 Confederate officers held as prisoners of war at Fort Pulaski from October 1864 to March 1865. Thirteen Confederate officers died of disease while at Fort Pulaski and remain buried just outside the fort to this day.
