Bust of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow by Akers, 1851

Longfellow sat for sculptor Paul Benjamin Akers in June 1851. At the end of that month, Fanny Longfellow reported Akers was "just completing a bust of Henry which promises to be far better than Bracketts."
