Summary
(Borders cropped) A fourteenth-century miniature Greek manuscript depicting scenes from the life of Alexander the Great. Late Byzantine-era Greek working class man from Beroea, Greece is depicted holding a scroll, and wearing a distinctive red cap, with light bracca (βράκκα) trousers tucked into knee-high boots. The entire scene is depicted entirely in Byzantine fashion of the late Byzantine period (1204-1453). “Alexander Romance” in S. Giorgio dei Greci in Venice.
