Summary

Unknown date. .This interesting photo was taken when the streets were still gravel - this will help determine the photo's date...The viewpoint is from the hill where the current Municipal Garage and Firehall is today. The church with steeple on the right is St. Paul's Lutheran Church built in 1886. On the foreground, the same side of the street to the Church is Hartman's Store at the corner which was destroyed by fire New Year's Eve 1993. A vintage upright gas pump can be seen at the corner of the store..Denbigh Lake is in the background. Notice all the cleared farmland in the distance...Much of the history of Denbigh can be found in 'The Oxen and the Axe' - a publication of the CDHS and 'This Was Yesterday' by Christina Hermer. Both books are available from the CDHS: www.cloynepioneermuseum.ca ( http://www.cloynepioneermuseum.ca ) ..Part of the CDHS Archives Collection.Note: All CDHS Flickr content is available for the public use providing our Rights Statement is followed:.pioneer.mazinaw.on.ca/flickr_statement.php ( http://pioneer.mazinaw.on.ca/flickr_statement.php )
