PEARL HARBOR (Jul. 27, 2011) Capt. Alberto A. Cruz, right, commander of the Philippine navy's newest multi-mission surface combatant ship, BRP Gregorio del Pilar (PF 15), gives Capt. Jeffrey James, commander of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH), a gift in the ward room aboard Gregorio del Pilar after it arrived at JBPHH for a brief port visit. Gregorio del Pilar, a former U.S. Coast Guard cutter, is the first gas-turbine jet engine-powered vessel in the Philippine navy fleet.
