Capt. Robert Dodson recites a message from the 13th Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. John A. Lejeune at a cake cutting ceremony commemorating the Marine Corps’ 237th birthday. Distinguished guests from the surrounding community participated in the ceremony conducted by Marines and sailors attached to Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji. On Nov. 1, 1921, Lejeune directed that as a reminder of honorable service by Marines, that his birthday message be published by every command on the birthday of the Corps.
