To this benefactors mayadd with confidence that their gifts will not be wasted. Eachcontribution is made more effective by those that have precededit, and in turn enhances their value. We ask for (1) $100,000additional endowment; (2) one hundred scholarships of $100 eachto aid needy and deserving studentsj (3) $10,000 for additions tolibrary and apparatus. Will not the friends of Education in theSoutli build upon this foundation a worthy rival of the collegesfor women in the I^orth, equalHng them in facilities for culture,while preserving the Southern type of womanhood.
