US COAST GUARD CGC Maui - Egypt
Summary
NORTH ARABIAN GULF--Lieutenant Junior Grade Peter Lang, executive officer of the Coast Guard Cutter Maui (WPB 1304) and Petty Officer 3rd Class Frederick Woods, a machinery technician, conduct a security sweep of a tug before it proceeds to Al Basrah Oil Terminal, Aug. 10. Maui is conducting Maritime Security Operations (MSO) in the gulf as apart of Combined Task Force 158. MSO help set the conditions for security and stability in the North Arabian Gulf and protect Iraq's sea-based infrastructure to help provide the Iraqi people the opportunity for self-determination.
