Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Gary Roughead tours the Pre Commissioning Unit (PCU) Makin Island (LHD 8) and other facilities at Northrop Grumman Ship Systems' Ingalls Operations in Pascagoula, Miss. As an experienced fleet operator, Roughead has worked closely with private and public shipyards in the United States and abroad throughout his career. To deepen his understanding of shipbuilding issues and develop the Navy's relationship with industry, Roughead is touring every major private shipbuilding site throughout the nation.
