This photograph forms part of a panoramic view of the city that Hood shot in 1930. The panorama was published in the Melbourne newspaper 'The Australasian' on 15 November 1930 on page 28. It is possible that the panorama was shot from the Observatory, at Wickham Terrace, Brisbane. ..This photo is part of the Australian National Maritime Museum’s Samuel J. Hood Studio collection. Sam Hood (1872-1953) was a Sydney photographer with a passion for ships. His 60-year career spanned the romantic age of sail and two world wars.
