Arthur Henri Poole - Civic Guards Wexford, group
Summary
This early photograph of the Irish Police (while they were still known as the Civic Guards) shows a police service in its infancy. Two officers, three sergeants and the remaining "Guards" make up the station party of what would appear to be Wexford Town. But is that the case?..And the consensus is that it probably *is* the case - with a strong possibility that this image was captured outside the barracks in Wexford town ( https://www.google.de/maps/@52.3404413,-6.4645457,3a,41.3y,12.35h,96.6t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sMshY8bQ9cW2jIIRPt5gpGQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en ) .....Photographer: A.
