TESTIMONY OF WITNESS.
QUESTION 1. What is your full name, age, and post-office address?
ANSWER. Clarence Masterson; 29 years; Brownlee, Nebr.
QUESTION 2. Was your name correctly given in the published notice?
ANSWER. Yes.
QUESTION 3. How long have your known the claimant in the case and the SW¼ NE¼, S½ NW¼, S½, Section 8, Township 27N, Range 30W, 6th Prin. Meridian, the land embraced in Homestead Entry, No. 08975, made at the Valentine, Nebr., Land Office?
ANSWER. I have known the claimant 8 or 10 years, and I have known the land for about four years.
QUESTION 4. Is entryman married? ANSWER. No.
QUESTION 5. Is said tract within the limits of an incorporated town, or used in any way for trade or business?
ANSWER. No.
QUESTION 6. When did entryman settle upon the homestead?
ANSWER. She built her house on the land in September, 1914.
QUESTION 7. At what date did entryman establish actual residence thereon?
ANSWER. In September, 1914.
QUESTION 8. Have entryman and family resided continuously on the homestead since thus establishing residence thereon?
ANSWER. Yes
QUESTION 9. Have entryman and family ever been absent from the homestead since thus establishing residence thereon?
ANSWER. Yes.
QUESTION 10. If there have been any such absences, give the dates covered by such absences, stating who was absent and for what reason.
ANSWER. She was absent about two months or so each year attending normal school; and she was absent a very few times for a week or so visiting, but this would not be over a couple of times a year.
