SOUTH CHINA SEA (Jul. 13, 2016) Cmdr. Adrian Calder, commanding officer of the "Royal Maces" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27, performs a pre-flight inspection on his F/A-18E Super Hornet on the flight deck of the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Cmdr. Daniel Cochran relieved Calder as the new commanding officer of VFA-27 during a change of command ceremony held partly in the skies above the carrier. Ronald Reagan, the Carrier Strike Group Five (CSG 5) flagship, is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
