Peter Berning, chief staff officer for Riverine Group 1, explains the mission and capabilities of Riverines to members of the Michigan Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve during a visit to Navy Expeditionary Combat Command. The visit provided a means to educate Michigan employers about the roles of the reserve component in national defense, and familiarize them with the mission of the Navy.
