Mccormick and Brown, part of the Dixieland Jazz Band, are two of 13 members of the Coast Guard Band who volunteered for a 30 day deployment in support of the Deepwater Horizon Response. The musicians, along with other Coast Guard personnel, teamed up with environmental protection agencies and Vessel of Opportunity operators to conduct sub-surface oil assessments along the Mississippi, Alabama and Florida coasts.
The Coast Guard is continually working with local, state and federal agencies in the cleanup and restoration of the Deepwater Horizon Response.
