Coiffure en cheveux natés ornée de perles (…)
Summary
Fashion magazines advised their readers on what jewellery to wear with specific dress. At the beginning of the 19th century, gold, carnelian, and agate were popular materials. The lady in this print wears a pearl parure (a set of jewels worn together), which includes two bracelets. According to the magazines, pearls were more appropriate for young ladies and diamonds for older women.
