Col. Sean Fisher, commander of U.S. Army Garrison Alaska, Fort Wainwright, recognized volunteers during the 2019 Volunteer Recognition Ceremony on April 25 at the Birch Hill Ski and Snowboard Area. The four Volunteer of the Year recipients were presented a check for $1,025,968.45 to signify the 37,375 total volunteer hours from all of the USAG Alaska volunteers throughout the last year.
