Colin Gray, of Lombard, Ill., also an 82nd Airborne Vietnam veteran, takes a photo of his grandson Ian Kalinski, of St. Charles, Ill. Gray served two tours in Vietnam, and appreciates everything that the 82nd Airborne Association does for its veterans. "I never knew that there was this association for myself and my brothers until two years ago," said Gray. The community of Naperville hosts the 82nd Airborne Day picnic in order to create a reunion for local airborne veterans, but also opens it to the public for the community to learn the history of the airborne missions, hosted at the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 on Sept. 14.
