COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Dec. 13, 2019) – Texas A&M University Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Midshipmen stand by in formation prior to their commissioning ceremony held at the university campus. 18 new Navy and Marine Corps officers were commissioned by Commander, Naval Service Training Command (NSTC), Rear Adm. Jamie Sands, during his visit to the unit. While visiting for the ceremony, Sands and NSTC Command Master Chief, Master Chief Petty Officer Jimmy Hailey III, also met with the unit’s leadership to discuss trends in accessions, how to better improve diversity and opportunity within the NROTC program, and standardization of mission goals and priorities.
