Puncture the lid of a 20-ounce jar or tin can with a 2-inch nail to make a "salt shaker" type of container for applying the dust to the roots. Use approximately 6 pounds of 2\ per cent aldrin, dieldrin, or heptachlor dust

These may be used to apply insecticidal dusts to soil surface before plowing to a depth of 6 to 8 inches. To apply insecticides at 200 pounds per acre, adjust holes in bottom of fertilizer spreader to remain half-open.
