Summary

Photo date unknown. The practice of checking / comparing hand-wound pocket watches was used to guarantee the train arrived on time and/or that both the locomotive and caboose arrive at the same time. Pocket watches were assigned to crew members and had to be cleaned and repaired at certain jewelers to guarantee a certain level of quality was maintained.
