Summary

CORONADO, Calif. (Nov. 9, 2020) Twenty-five future Sailors receive final instructions from the Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Southwest Naval Special Warfare/Naval Special Operations team prior to the swimming portion of the Physical Screening Test (PST) at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado Nov. 9. The PST is the first test for candidates who have met medical screening requirements and desire to enlist in the five Navy Special Operations ratings: SEAL (SO – Special Warfare Operator); SB (Special Boats Combatant Crewman-Crewwoman); Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD); ND (Navy Diver) and AIRR (Aviation Rescue Swimmer). The test measures the individuals for strength and endurance in five separate events: a timed 500-yard swim; push-ups; curl-ups; pull-ups; and a timed 1.5-mile run. NTAG Southwest has more than 50 recruiting stations in 210,000 square miles covering Arizona, Nevada, and Southern California and employs more than 300 recruiters, support personnel and civilians.
