Summary
Cpl. Izela Izquierdo and Lance Cpl. Matthew Torres, both ammunition technicians with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, build a terrain model during a simulated Humanitarian Assistance-Disaster Relief mission at White Beach Naval Facility, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 1, 2019. Izquierdo, a native of Dallas, graduated from Townview High School in May 2015 before enlisting from Recruiting Station Dallas in January 2017. Torres, a native of Rancho Cucamonga, California, graduated from Rancho Cucamonga High School in May 2017 before enlisting in October the same year. CLB-31 provides security, logistics, transportation, and HADR support as the Logistics Combat Element for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU partnering with the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
