Curious Afghan boys from the village of Seh Du-kahn look at U.S. Army Capt. Timothy Wu, a native of McLean, Va., and a Corps of Engineers officer from the 62nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade at Fort Hood, Texas, and currently assigned to Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435, as he stands guard while other engineers from CJIATF 435 conduct a survey of the utilities available to the village. CJIATF 435 engineers conducted site surveys of the region as part of a project to connect the Justice Center in Parwan to Afghanistan's national power grid. They surveyed the region that included a stop in Seh Du-kahn where they looked for potential ways of providing improvements to the village's water and power supply systems.
