There are two varieties ofthe poodle; the corded and the curly.The latter is the more common andalso the more practical, for the cordedpoodles coat is the most difficult ofany among the canine race, to carefor. The hair on the latter hangsfrom the dog in long rope-like strands,almost touching the ground and un-less it is given daily attention it islikely to become matted and soiled.The corded poodle is covered withshort curls all over his body. It iscustomary to clip them about one-third ; that is, the coat is left on head,neck and front, extending well backof the shoulders while the loin, hipsand back legs are closely clipped,leaving a tuft here and there and onthe end of the docked tail.
