Drawing, Design for a Candlestick, 1770–80 (CH 18171063)
Summary
Two oak boughs rise along the sides of a gaine which, standing on a calyx, forms the shaft. A garland hangs from the top of a medallion, which is fastened to the shaft, and around the boughs. Blossoms form the sockets. Two putti top the gaine, one of them shoulders a sword, the other puts a helmet on his head.
