description

Summary

During a live-fire familiarization range of African Lion 14, Petty Officer 2nd Class Ruth M. Pritchett, a hospital corpsman and Lansing, Mich. native, meets her Royal Moroccan and U.S. Air Force counterparts when they are integrated as the range-safety staff. Exercise African Lion 14 is a multi-lateral and combined-joint exercise between the Kingdom of Morocco and the U.S. that involves approximately 350 U.S. servicemembers, 150 soldiers from the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, and additional military personnel from European and African partner nations, and is designed to improve each nation's ability to operate collectively while continuing to build mutual understanding of each nation's military tactics, techniques and procedures. African Lion 14 exemplifies the ability of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade to integrate with partner-nation militaries and respond to contingencies in the operational reach of U.S. Africa Command under a scalable, expeditionary joint-task force of multiple U.S. service components.
