The National Park Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District are in the design phase of the restoration project that will restore up to 100 acres of freshwater tidal marsh using dredged material, providing critical habitat for a variety of wildlife. Dyke Marsh encompasses 485 acres and is one of the largest remaining freshwater tidal wetlands in the Washington metropolitan area.
