Concrete Bridge Over Addington Rd. - Northbrook
Summary
TThe original Addington Colonization Road was built in 1854 and was one of the colonization roads built in Ontario. This bridge in Northbrook is over a creek just north of the village and was likely built when Highway #41 was constructed over parts of the original Addington Road in 1935..It is interesting how narrow the bridge is as compared to todays standards. Today's snow plow may not fit through the bridge. Today, ATV's use the bridge to cross the creek...Many old bridges had dates inscribed into the concrete. No date can be seen on this bridge...Part of the Ken & Cathy Hook Collection.Note: All CDHS Flickr content is available for the public use providing our Rights Statement is followed:.pioneer.mazinaw.on.ca/flickr_statement.php ( http://pioneer.mazinaw.on.ca/flickr_statement.php ) >
