Hard stone statues were highly valued in ancient Egypt and were only available to the elite. This figure of a man in a long shendyt, with both hands flat on the thighs in a gesture of prayer, was likely placed in a temple to attend rituals for the gods.
The figure has a shaved head with a flat top. There is a stele at the back.
