Robert Swain Peabody was an American architect and a prominent member of the Peabody and Stearns architectural firm. Peabody was born in 1845 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and graduated from Harvard University. After working in the office of architect Henry Hobson Richardson, he joined the firm of Peabody and Stearns pioneering the Shingle Style.
