English Camp, - San Juan Island
Summary
Inside the formal garden. The garden was originally planted in the summer of 1867 with the arrival of Captain Delacombe to the camp. By the time the National Park Service acquired the property in the 1960s, all traces of the garden had been erased, leaving only the historic photograph to tell its story. For the 1976 American Bicentennial celebration, volunteers reconstructed the garden using the photograph for guidance. English Camp
