Eugene “Red” Tobin (left), Vernon “Shorty” Keough and Andy Mamedoff, volunteers with the Royal Air Force Eagle Squadrons, fought in the Battle of Britain during World War II. Considered the founding fathers of the 4th Fighter Wing, their efforts led to the establishment of the 334th, 335th, and 336th Fighter Squadrons which still operate today. (Courtesy Photo)
