SPIE is a method used to rapidly insert or extract Special Forces from terrain not suitable for helicopter landings. Enterprise and embarked Carrier Air Wing One (CVW-1) are currently on a scheduled six-month deployment in support of Maritime Security Operations, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
