Louisiana (Sep. 25, 2005) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) personnel are transported aboard an SH-60B Seahawk helicopter, assigned to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light Four Eight (HSL-48) during an assessment of Port Arthur and Lake Charlotte communities in Louisiana following Hurricane Rita's landfall. HSL-48 is currently embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). The Navy's involvement in the Hurricane Rita humanitarian assistance operations are led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
