Alexandre Calame (1810-1864) was a Swiss painter known for his landscapes and depictions of nature. He was born in Vevey, Switzerland and studied art in Geneva before moving to Paris to further his studies. Calame's work often featured dramatic natural scenes, such as mountains, waterfalls, and forests, and he was particularly skilled at capturing the effects of light and atmosphere in his paintings.
