description

Summary

Fort Benning, Ga.— The U.S. Army Small Arms Championships (All Army) is a comprehensive, live-fire training event that tests Soldiers ability to employ both primary and secondary weapon systems, problem solve and think critically under the stresses created by competition. While the elements and spirit of competition are important, the Army's critical intent of the Competition in Arms Program is to develop marksmanship skills at the entry and intermediate level and recognize superior skill at the highest levels, while raising the standards of marksmanship and increasing lethality across the entire force.
The All Army is hosted annually by the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) as the Army's premier marksmanship competition as it tests more than 260 Soldiers from across the United States, and all four components: active duty, National Guard, Reserve, and ROTC. This year, there were 5 active divisions, 15 states, and 2 ROTC programs represented.
The week-long All Army Championships at Fort Benning, Georgia sees Soldiers compete in rifle, pistol and multi-gun course of fire. There is a mix of both tactical and civilian style matches, including Excellence in Competition matches in rifle and pistol.
