Fort Knox wins Energy Department FEMP award for second consecutive year
Summary
On Oct. 23, 2019, two officials the Federal Energy Management Program and one from the Kentucky Office of Energy Policy joined Fort Knox officials to witness a shutdown of the entire energy grid to demonstrate the post’s energy resilience capabilities. According to one FEMP official at the meeting, “The lessons that we take [from] here we’re able to transfer across the federal government to improve the agility and ability of other agencies, both Department of Defense and civilian, to improve the resilience posture.” Fort Knox has earned its second consecutive award from FEMP because Department of Energy leaders continue to recognize its achievements.
