Four Freedoms and Arsenal of Democracy posters. With the final section still to be placed on the scaffolding, a worker is already installing the wiring for the two 15 x 30 foot photomontages displayed in Defense Square, Washington for a month beginning November 7, 1941. The panels, entitled The Four Freedoms and Arsenal of Democracy, were designed for the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) by Jean Carlu, eminent poster artist. They were shown first in New York and after the Washington showing went on a tour of many large cities throughout the country
