Fragment (Peru), 17th century (CH 18391789)

Section of rep strip with wide vertical bands of plain red or green alternating with three bands made up of stripes of white, green, pink, red, brown, and blue. Each multi-striped band with central fancy cloth warp-surfaced stripe; scroll in two outer ones, stylized figure on center one. Two plain selvages. Corded loom ending across the top, hand-sewn hem at bottom. Flat gold ornament in stylized plant form caught on right center.
