The Marines with Golf Company, Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit conducted the training as part of Talisman Sabre 2015. Talisman Sabre is a major bilateral exercise that enhances the combat readiness and interoperability of U.S. and Australian forces across a range of military operations. The 31st MEU participated in the exercise while deployed on its regularly scheduled Fall Patrol of the Asia-Pacific region. Earl, a native of Crawfordsville, Indiana, is an assistant machine gunner.
