Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on Isla San Cristobal, GALAPAGOS ISLAND (Jan. 25)--Seals were just some of the animals in danger of becoming affected by the 200,000 gallon oil spil in the Galapagos Island January 16. The tank vessel Jessica ran hard aground in the Galapagos archipelago Jan. 16, spilling about 200,000 gallons of oil into a pristine environment known for unique wildlife and aquatic species.
