Summary

LIBI_00019_00561; This item is an carte-de-visite (card-mounted photograph) of George A. Forsyth in bust view. The photograph is 2 x 3 1/2" (2 7/16 x 4" mounted) and was produced circa 1865 by Matthew B. Brady. The front of the image is signed in brown ink by Forsyth and the photographer's stamp is printed in gold ink. On the verso, a handwritten notation in pencil reads, "Dear friend on Gen'l Sheridan's staff." Handwritten description provided by Elizabeth B. Custer.
