Ghost of Civil War soldier kneels before headstone at Shiloh National Cemetery (composite image)
Summary
In May 2004, photographer Mark Bias was chatting with Shiloh park staff Josh Clemens who was dressed in Civil War era attire. Josh mentioned that there are no particular ghost stories associated with Shiloh National Cemetery so Mark good humoredly suggested that they create one. This composite image was created using the photographic technique of taking two pictures of the same location, one with Josh Clemens and one without, and then combining them to create the special effect of the ghost of a Civil War soldier kneeling in front of the headstone of a fallen comrade.
