Guidon - National Parks Gallery
Summary
LIBI_00279_07981 A cavalry guidon of a type used during the last half of the 19th century. Upper half is red with a white numeral 7 affixed. The lower half is white with the red letter "c" affixed. Regulations state that this type could have been in use during the 1870's but definitely by 1885. The guidon came from the estate of Michael Kerrigan, a bugler in the 7th cavalry. The guidon is in good condition and has been preserved. There is no evidence that the guidon was used in the Custer battle.
